Sundargarh, Nov 22: Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday took part in 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra' held at Kundukela in Odisha's Sundargarh district and hit out at the State government for the slow progress of Central schemes in the region.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, "The Narendra Modi government has sanctioned around 18 lakh crore rupees to Odisha for various projects and infrastructure development in the past year , while the the Congress-led UPA government has given only 3 lakh crore rupees to Odisha in their 10 years of regime. The Modi government has provided more than 32 lakh houses to Odisha under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). More than 77 lakh toilets have been constructed under Swachh Bharat Yojana. More than 53 lakh poor women of the State received LPG connection under the Ujjwala scheme."
"Mining revenue in the State has increased from Rs 5000 crore to Rs 50,000 crores. About Rs 1000 to 1200 crore of DMF has been allocated to Sundergarh district annually. However, thousands of people in the district are yet to get the basic facilities as the State government has failed to implement the Central schemes," he added.
