Winter witnesses the highest gathering of around 4 to 5 Lakhs resident and migratory birds.
This year, as winter starts near around 20,000 birds from different parts of world like Kazakhstan, Siberia, Afghanistan, Syria, Russia, Turkey have gathered in Mangalajodi.

✨Birds like Laping, Torn, Godwitt, Sand Piper, Godwall, Spot bill duck northern ointel, rudi shelduck have thronged in Chilika.
Mangalajodi is one of the oldest village coming under Tangi block of Khurda district in Odisha, 75 km from Bhubaneswar towards Berhampur with a huge marshland along the northern edge of Chilika Lake.
