Jajpur, Dec 19: A woman died after being bitten by a venomous snake in Raghunathpur village under the Binjharpur police station limits in Jajpur district this morning. 

The woman has been identified as Lata. 

According to the information, the woman had gone to her agricultural field when a snake bit her. She fell unconscious on the spot.

Locals rushed her to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Binjharpur where doctors declared her dead. 

Police lodged an unnatural death case and sent the body for post-mortem to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Jajpur.
