Balasore, Feb 19: A woman police inspector-in-charge (IIC) was allegedly attacked and detained by miscreants while patroling in night at Udaypur village of Sahabajipur Panchayat under Bhogarai block in Balasore.

The incident occured on Sunday night when the IIC of Talasari Marine Police Station Champabati Soren reached a shop in Udaypur village to stop gambling activities.

Following her arrival, the miscreants soon started to argueing with her. The miscreants allegedly locked up the IIC in the shop.

Even the driver of the patrolling vehicle, Sudhansu Mohanty  was not spared when he tried to stop the miscreants manhandling the lady cop.
