Nayagarh, Jan 29: In a tragic mishap, a youth died as his motorcycle skidded off the road and hit a roadside tree at Dahikhai on the Khalisahi-Adakata Road in Nayagarh district this morning. 

The deceased has been identified as Bhabagrahi Parida (Bapuni, 32), the only son of Shankar Parida of Dholamara Barapalli village under Khandapada block in the district. 

According to the information, the youth was going by motorcycle from Bhubaneswar to Amlapata Jogijogiani Peetha to attend a batchmates' get-together when he met with the accident. He received severe injuries on his head. Locals rushed him to the Khandapada CHC where doctors declared him dead. 

Latest reports said the police handed over the body of Bhabagrahi to his family members after an autopsy was conducted on the body. 

A pall of gloom descended on the village and nearby areas following the sorrowful incident.
