Nuapada, Nov 6: The political temperature in Nuapada soared on Thursday as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) intensified its campaign for candidate Jay Dholakia, with two Chief Ministers—Mohan Charan Majhi of Odisha and Vishnu Deo Sai of Chhattisgarh—joining the electoral push. Their presence marked a high-voltage day of canvassing ahead of the November 11 Nupada bypoll.
CM Majhi’s Roadshow in Komna
Odisha CM Mohan Majhi led a massive roadshow in Komna block, beginning with a floral tribute at the Ambedkar statue in Udyanbandh. He then rallied support for Jay Dholakia, urging voters to back BJP for development and stability.
Addressing a public meeting, CM Majhi appealed to the people to ensure Dholakia’s victory for the all-round development in the region.

✨Simultaneously, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai
campaigned in Panchampur village under Kutbanbera panchayat. He emphasized
BJP’s development agenda and took a swipe at BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik’s
limited fluency in Odia, contrasting it with BJP’s grassroots connect. Sai
urged voters to choose a party that understands and represents local
aspirations.

Congress Releases Manifesto
Amid the BJP blitz, the Congress party released its manifesto for the Nuapada poll. The grand old party’s promises include relief from migration, cold storage facilities, agro-based industries, forest rights, and filling vacant teaching posts.
However, questions have arisen about how these promises will
be fulfilled if the party wins the seat but does not hold power at either the
state or central level.

High-Voltage Campaign Ahead
Meanwhile, BJD leaders held a press conference reiterating
past allegations against BJP and defending their governance record. BJD
president Naveen Patnaik is expected to return to the campaign trail tomorrow,
while Chhattisgarh Deputy CM Arun Sao will also campaign for BJP. Samajwadi
Party leader Akhilesh Yadav may join the final day of campaigning.
Notably, the November 11 Nuapada bypoll was necessitated by the demise of former BJD MLA Rajendra Dholakia. A total of 14 candidates are contesting the bypoll, including BJP’s Jay Dholakia, BJD nominee Snehangini Chhuria, and Congress candidate Ghasiram Majhi.
