Nitin Gadkari and kin vote in Nagpur, says BJP will cross 400 LS seats

Minister Gadkari, who is aiming for a hat-trick here, said that this time the BJP will definitely achieve ‘400-paar’ (400-plus LS seats), and expressed '100 per cent confidence' that he would easily sail through in Nagpur with over 5-lakh margin.

“Not only that, we are also targeting a record voting turnout this time, from 54 per cent in 2019 to 75 per cent in 2024. I appeal to all the people to step out and exercise their right to vote, and celebrate the greatest festival of democracy,” urged the Union Minister.

The winner in the 2014 and 2019 LS elections, this time Gadkari is pitted against his main rival, INDIA-MVA-Congress nominee and MLA Vikas Thakare, who exudes confidence that he will trump his BJP opponent.

The first phase of the Lok Sabha 2024 elections started in five LS seats in Maharashtra in Nagpur, Chandrapur, Bhandara-Gondiya, Ramtek (SC) and Gadchiroli-Chimur (ST) at 7 a.m. with thousands trooping out to vote at various polling stations.

Leaders of various political parties have called upon the people to come out and complete their voting before the summer day temperatures start soaring.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Files Nomination Papers From Sambalpur LS Seat

Sambalpur, May 2: Union Minister and BJP candidate from Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat, Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday filed his nomination papers.

Pradhan filed his paper before the Sambalpur Collector and Returning Officer. Several BJP Leaders were present during his filing of papers.

Before filing his nomination papers, Pradhan visited Samaleswari Temple to seek the blessings of the presiding deity and then headed out in a huge rally to file nomination papers along with BJP Sambalpur MLA Candidate Jaynarayan Mishra and BJP Rengali MLA Candidate Nauri Nayak.

Despite the sweltering heat, the rally for the BJP leaders saw local residents turning out in thousands.

Pradhan is set to contest elections for Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat against BJD's candidate Pranab Prakash Das and Congress’s candidate Nagendra Pradhan.

Assembly and Lok Sabha elections will be held simultaneously in Odisha in four phases from May 13 to June 1. The results will be out on June 4.

BJD Announces Final List Of Candidates For Assembly Polls

Bhubaneswar, Apr 22: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Thursday announced the eighth and last list of candidates for assembly polls 2024.

BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik has announced the names of three candidates in the eighth list.

Sandhyarani Das will contest from Korei constituency.

Similarly, Sukant Nayak will contest from Nilagiri and Sabitri Pradhan will contest from Khandapada.

Romancha Ranjan Biswal will contest from Deogarh instead of Arundhati Devi.

Earlier on April 22, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) had announced its seventh list of candidates.

Assembly and Lok Sabha elections will be held simultaneously in Odisha in four phases from May 13 to June 1. The results will be out on June 4.

Finally! Release date of 'Panchayat 3' out

Mumbai, May 2: Makers of 'Panchayat 3' on Thursday announced the release date of the TV series.
Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, the light-hearted entertainer is all set to return with the new season on May 28.

The new season will bring back the series' cast including Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, and Sanvikaa.
