“The Narendra Modi Government has already slashed taxes on petrol and diesel and subsidised LPG gas refilling under the Ujjwala scheme in order to help the common people. The Odisha Government should take a cue from it and come out reducing VAT on the two fuel items,” demanded BJP Rengali MLA Nauri Nayak and party’s Yuva Morcha State president Irashish Acharya at a Press meet here.
They wanted to know why the Odisha Government is sitting silent even as many States have announced deductions in VAT on petrol and diesel. “The Odisha Government has been shedding crocodile tears over rising prices. Now, it should come forward and announce deductions in petrol and diesel,” they said.
