The CM also launched mobile phone distribution programme on the occasion.
Speaking on the programme Naveen said the areas of Malkangiri are now on the path of development and to facilitate it he announces to distribute mobile phones to its residents. 4G mobile phones will be distributed in seven panchayats of the districts with an objective to help children study online. By this they will gain knowledge on various government schemes, he added.
“For the all round development of the Swabhiman Anchal, the State government will spend Rs 100 crore which will be utilised in construction of roads for better connectivity and electrification in remote areas. Steps will be taken to ensure better irrigation through deep bore-wells”, the Chief Minister informed.
"I went to Swabhiman Anchal in July 2018 and inaugurated the Gurupriya Bridge, at that time, I had announced a special package of Rs 100 crore under the SETU scheme to spearhead the development in the area. The sum was later increased to Rs 215 crore. It focuses on education, livelihoods, communications, drinking water, irrigation, housing, banking and so on”, added the CM.
Best quality turmeric is grown in the ‘Swabhiman Anchal’ of Malkangiri. Hence steps have been taken to facilitate turmeric cultivation in the area along with its processing and branding, Naveen added further.
Taking up the electrification issue the CM said, 33 x 11 kV substation work for power supply will commence soon with the setting up of 11 kV 3 phase line connection.
Coming to water supply the CM informed that the work on a mega pipe water supply project worth Rs 20 crores has begun whereas 250 tube wells have been erected.
