Rayagada, Mar 18: Tightening the noose around the necks of corrupt officials, Vigilance Department sleuths on Thursday conducted multiple raids against Khariar Ranger Sadanand Sunani on the charge of accumulating assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
The raid was conducted at a total of six places including the house of Sunani’s son-in-law Birendra Khura, who works as the PWD engineer and lives at Balaji Tower in Rayagada Town.
During the raid, the anti-corruption bureau officials checked bank accounts, insurance policies and land records running in the name of Sunani.
“While the raid is currently underway the disclosing the exact amount of seized disproportionate assets possessed by the accused officials will not be possible. It could be communicated once the search gets completed,” said Ananta Prasad Mallick, DSP Vigilance, Rayagada.
