The weather department issued orange and yellow warnings of heat wave conditions for several districts in the state during the 48 hours.
There is possiblity of temperature touching 45 Degree Celcius today, said IMD.
However, mercury level is expected to fall from Sunday onwards under the influence of rainfall and thundershower activity.

New Delhi, May 2: Online food delivery platform Zomato has received a fresh goods and services tax (GST) demand and penalty order of more than Rs 2 crore from Delhi's sales tax officer.
The order consists of Rs 2,22,91,376 in GST demand with interest of Rs 2,08,98,164 and a penalty of Rs 22,29,136 for the April 2018 to March 2019 period.
"The Company has received an order for the period April 2018 to March 2019 passed by the Sales Tax Officer, Ward 300, Delhi confirming the demand of GST of Rs 2,22,91,376 with interest of Rs 2,08,98,164 and penalty of Rs 22,29,136," Zomato said in a stock exchange regulatory filing.
The foodtech major said that it will be filing an appeal against the order before the appropriate authority.
"We believe that we have a strong case on merits and the company will be filing an appeal against the order before the appropriate authority," Zomato said.
Last month, the company also received GST demand and penalty order worth Rs 11.81 crore. The order consists of Rs 5.9 crore in GST demand and a penalty of Rs 5.9 crore for the July 2017-March 2021 period.
Earlier this month, Zomato had said it received notices from the tax authorities in Delhi and Karnataka over alleged short payment of GST in 2018 amounting to Rs 4.2 crore.

Gurugram, May 2: A massive tumour weighing 16.7 kgs and "hanging like a gunny bag" on the back of a 27-year-old man has successfully been removed in a 10-hour lasting complex surgery.
The man hailing from the Pacific Islands has been carrying the non-cancerous tumour sized 58x50 cms since 2008, said the doctors at the Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI), Gurugram.
"Giant neurofibroma is a type of peripheral nerve tumour that forms soft bumps on or under the skin which can grow to very large size gradually over a longer period," said Niranjan Naik, Senior Director, Surgical Oncology, FMRI.
Genetic abnormalities lead to such tumours, “which can hamper the quality of life of the patient by restricting mobility, causing cosmetic disfigurement, discomfort or pain and occasionally heavy bleeding due to bed sore formation”, the doctor said.
Due to the high risk associated with the tumour’s size and complexity of the case, the young patient was denied surgery at several hospitals in different countries.
Niranjan explained that “these tumours are very vascular in nature, containing large pools of blood in most of the areas.” Thus, it can raise a “high risk of uncontrollable bleeding” during the surgery.
To mitigate this risk, the team initiated the treatment with two procedures that blocked 11 significant blood vessels.
Niranjan said that the tumour had multiple large arterial and venous channels, and covered the entire back of the patient, "exposing approximately 18 per cent of the body surface as a raw area".
To cover this area post-surgery, the doctors used the skin graft from the tumour, as it was non-cancerous, rather than from both thighs.
"This innovative approach allowed for the successful coverage of the patient's entire back," in a procedure that lasted 10 hours.
"The patient was discharged in just four days in a stable condition," the doctors said, adding that the "tumour was non-cancerous, the patient is disease free now and will have a good quality long-term survival."

Lucknow, May 2: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Thursday, slammed Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for his statement on Lord Ram and Shiva and said that the Congress party is now resorting to insulting the beliefs of the Hindu community to vent its frustration over impending defeat in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
Yogi Adityanath said that in the Sanatan Dharma, Lord Ram and Lord Shiva hold great reverence. He pointed out that in the epic Ramcharitmanas, there are instances where Lord Ram worships Lord Shiva and vice versa, illustrating their mutual respect and complementarity.
The chief minister condemned the attempt to pit Lord Ram against Lord Shiva in speeches of Congress leaders.
He further said, "Our scriptures bear testimony to the fact that betrayal of either Lord Shiva or Lord Ram inevitably leads to defeat and downfall."
He remarked the Congress president's recent derogatory remarks are a "new beginning of the party's downfall."
Addressing the media at his official residence, he said, "The Congress history is replete with such actions. Yet, during elections, such tactless behaviour becomes conspicuous. By bringing up such issues, the Congress is not only disrespecting the faith of India, but also hurting the sentiments of the majority community."
He further said, "The Congress carries forward the British legacy of 'Divide and Rule'. It sows the seeds of discord in society based on caste, region, and language for petty political gains. The party will continue its divisive agenda in future also to stay relevant in Indian politics."
