The incident took place during the business hours of the Anil Hotel, located at First Gate area in the town. CCTV visual available with the hotel shows at least two miscreants identified as Mohan and his aide approaching the hotel staff and then hacking him along with the owner with a sword.
Both the victims bled profusely before being rushed to MKCG Hospital in Berhampur by some fellow traders and locals.
The attacker Anil happens to be a regular customer of our hotel. Yesterday he asked for a sum of Rs 100 which I denied to lend. He even indulged in a verbal duel with me and left the soft. A few minutes later he returned with an aide and carried out the attack, informed Anil, the owner of the hotel.
Based on the complaint of the victim police have detained Mohan along with his two aides in connection with the incident.
