Taking to Twitter, Pradhan said: “Pained by the passing away of renowned industrialist Shri Rahul Bajaj. A visionary, his death leaves the world of commerce and industry poorer. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.”
Bajaj the doyen of the Bajaj Group, passed away in Pune this afternoon following his long battle with cancer. He was 83.
Born in Kolkata in 1938, Rahul Bajaj breathed his last at around 2.30 pm on Saturday.
He had taken charge of the Bajaj Group in 1965 and during his captaincy, the group soared to one of the biggest in the sub-continent.
