According to information, Covid Warrior Sukant had tested positive for the virus 15 days back. He was admitted in a Covid hospital in the capital city on May 15. However, hospital authorities informed the family that Sukant succumbed to the virus on Wednesday. He was 45.
Sukant was working with a newspaper and a web portal as well. Sukant is survived by his wife and a daughter.
The untimely demise of Sukant has saddened journalists of Pipili and the State as well. It may be noted that about 15 working journalists have so far been died of the virus in the State. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has declared journalists as covid warriors.
