Rajya Sabha Legislature Party Leader Prasanna Acharya informed this to mediapersons in New Delhi on Thursday. The BJD decision assumes significance in the wake of 16 opponent political parties deciding to boycott the Presidential Address.
“We are neither with Congress nor with BJP. We support decisions and programmes that are in the interest of the nation. President's Address in the Parliament is a constitutional programme. We will attend it,” said Acharya.
The parties which have decided not to attend the President's Address include Congress, NCP, NC, DMK, AITC, Shiv Sena, Samajwadi Party, RJD, CPI (M), CPI, IUML, PDP and Kerala Congress.
