This was decided at a meeting of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) held e under SJTA Chief Administrator Krishan Kumar here on Thursday. The Yatra will be held with the least possible number of servitors.
A list of servitors to participate in the Yatra will be prepared soon. The list will be presented at the Chhatisha Nijog meeting to be held on May 11, four days before the annual Chandan Yatra to begin on Akshaya Tritiya on May 15.
Notably, the Jagannath Temple is now closed for devotees till May 15.
It may be noted that the Chandan Yatra had been held inside the Shreemandir premises last year in view of Covid pandemic. No devotees were allowed entry to the temple.
At today’s meeting, discussions were held on vaccination of servitors. It was decided that a door-to-door survey will be conducted for the purpose. If required, another vaccination centre will be established, sources said quoting the SJTA.
