Bhubaneswar, Jan 12: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday announced waiver of form fill-up fees for all Class X students seeking to appear for the High School Certificate examinations, also known as matriculation examinations, to be conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Odisha in 2021.
The Chief Minister waived the fees in view of income of parents hit by lockdowns and shutdown imposed to check spread of Covid 19 pandemic in the State.
A release issued by the Chief Minister’s office said about 6 lakh students would benefit and there would be an extra burden of Rs 27 crore on the State exchequer. As per BSE, each student is charged Rs 420 for the examinations.
“Due to the Chief Minsiter’s decision, no student will be deprived of appearing Matriculation examination,” claimed the release.
