Bhubaneswar, May 14: In view of the Covid situation remains to be severe despite weekend shutdown and lockdown in force, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has called an all-party meeting on May 17 to hold discussion and seek suggestions to combat the virus in a coordinated manner.
The meeting to be held in Odisha Assembly premises will be presided over by Speaker Surjya Nayaran Patro. Chief Whips and leaders of all parties, BJD, Congress, MLA, CPM and Independents will attend the meeting. Chief Minister will attend the meeting on virtual mode from Naveen Niwas. Those who will not be able to attend meeting physically can also join through video conferencing.
In his reaction, Congress MLA Suresh Kumar Routray said his party would ask the Government to increase beds in Covid hospitals and ensure supply of medicine and oxygen adequately. He too said that his party would oppose home delivery of liquor.
Another senior Congress leader Santosh Singh Saluja has welcomed the decision of all-party meeting.
