The BMC said all those who have booked slots till May 22 can take second dose of vaccine at drive-in camps during scheduled time of that day. There will be drive-in vaccination in the city after May 22, said the BMC.
It may be noted that ACS, Health, PK Mohapatra has already asked district Collectors and Municipal Corporation Commissioners to refrain from drive-in and door-step vaccination strategies as they are not allowed as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
At such facilities, the norm of observation for 30 minutes to manage AEFI, if any, is not executed and there is also high likelihood of vaccine wastage, the ACS had observed in the letter.
