This is the first corruption allegation referred by the Odisha Government to the Lokayukta after its creation.
The Information and Public Relations Department of the Odisha Government informed about the decision in its Twitter handle on Monday.
Notably, Panigrahy has been arrested by the State Crime Branch on the charge of having direct links with Ashok Pathak, who has allegedly duped youths belonging to Gopalpur Port displaced families of crores of rupees on the promises of giving jobs to them in the Tata Company. Besides, there are also other corruption allegations levelled against Panigrahy.
Ashok and his IFS father Abhay Kant Pathak have been arrested for the alleged job scam and amassing assets worth crores of rupees disproportionate to known sources of income, respectively. They are now in judicial custody till December 9.
