As the House met for the day, Opposition members rushed to the Well of the House and shouted slogans against the Minister and the State Government. They demanded immediate ouster and arrest of the Minister for his alleged role in Kalahandi school teacher Mamita Meher murder.
As they didn’t refrain from protest, Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro adjourned the House at 10.31am till 11.30 am.
After the House was adjourned, BJP members took a unique move to continue their protest. They sprinkled cow-dung and Ganga waters on floors and roads inside the Assembly with an objective to purify the premises. They alleged that the Assembly premises have become impure with presence of Minister Mishra. They were seen holding banners and placards in their hands.
