Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Opposition Chief Whip Mohan Majhi alleged that ineligible BJD workers have been distributed PMAY houses in order to create a vote bank for the party. He expressed unhappiness saying that the State Government has remained mute spectator to the illegalities.
“A Central team had recently visited nine blocks in five districts in Odisha. During visit, the team found irregularities in distribution on PMAY houses. Later it informed the State Government about these irregularities. However, the State Government has sit silent still,” said Majhi.
He alleged that a scam of Rs 1,000 crore has been committed in execution of PMAY in the State. Other BJP members joined him in staging a protest.
Unable to run the House, Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro adjourned the House for 10 minutes and called for an all-party meeting for smooth conduct of the House.
