The proposals belonged to SSEPD, Water Resources, Culture and Tourism, GA & PG, Higher Educaiton, Law, Planning & convergence, Rural Development and Steel and Mines Depaertments.
Major decisions of Cabinet included the approval for promotion of the use of electric vehicles in the State through different kinds of incentives and Odisha Sand Policy-2021 for ensuring adequate supply of sand for developmental projects and construction works.
According to the adopted Electric Vehicle policy, Odisha has targeted to achieve adoption of 20% electric vehicles in all vehicle registrations by 2025 and to promote manufacture of electric vehicles and its components including battery in the State.
Briefing mediapersons after the meeting, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra said financial incentives will be provided for manufacturing industries and purchasers. Besides, support of interest subvention in loans, waiving of road tax & registration fees during the policy period will be provided. It has been decided to give incentives under the Start-up Policy of MSME Department.
As per the proposal, 15% subsidy will be provided for buying two-wheelers. Subsidies upto Rs 5,000, Rs 12,000 and Rs 1,00,000, will be given for buying of two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers, respectively.
