Bhubaneswar, Dec 10: As many as 343 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Odisha in the last 24 hours, informed the State Health and Family Welfare Department on Thursday.
Out of the fresh 343 COVID-19 cases of the State, 197 were detected from quarantines while 146 were reported from local contact cases.
Sundargarh district recorded the maximum number of new cases at 41, followed by Angul at 32.
With this, the total number of Coronavirus positive cases of the State has increased to 3,22,642.
The Health Dept also said that as many as five people of the State succumbed to the virus in last 24 hours.
“Regret to inform the demise of five numbers of Covid positive patients while under treatment in hospitals, the Health Dept tweeted.
The deceased were one each from Balangir, Khordha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Sundargarh districts, the Health Dept said.
A total of 3,17,412 people of Odisha have recovered from Covid-19 so far. Currently, the State has 3,383 active cases.
