Bhubaneswar, Apr 14: A BJP delegation led by its national spokesperson Sambit Patra on Wednesday met Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha and urged him to deploy Central forces in sensitive and hyper-sensitive booths of Pipili going to bypoll on April 17.
“We have identified 40 hyper-sensitive booths in Pipili Assembly constituency. BJP agents had not been allowed to sit in these booths. The BJD is intimidating voters at these places. Hence, Central forces should be deployed and all other security aspects ensured at these booths,” demanded the team.
Besides, the party also raised two other issues. It doubted the role of Delanga Tehsildar Mahendra Kumar Badhei saying he is providing all support to the BJD and intimidating the BJP, thereby posing a threat for holding a free and fair election. He should be transferred forthwith.
The team also alleged that the State Government is trying to impact the election through CDPO, ICDS. The CEO should take appropriation action in this regard, Patra said.
