Bhubaneswar, Dec 12: Union Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday thanked youth artist Samarendra Behera for carving a portrait of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a tree in Similipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district to spread messages of conservation of forests and protection of environment.
“While the great vision of a statesman inspires people, such positive expressions come to light,” Pradhan said while praising Samarendra for the portrait.
Pradhan said the Prime Minister’s vision towards environment protection has already made him a world-level ambassador. “Taking such an innovative mode to create awareness about environment protection at grassroots level is really very appreciable,” said Pradhan.
Notably, Samarendra Behera commenting on his art had stated that he wanted to send a request to the Prime Minister to take note of illegal felling of trees in the Similipal National Park area.
