Bhubaneswar, May 30: Union Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan undertook an aerial survey in Cyclone Yaas-ravaged areas in Odisha on Sunday.
He viewed affected areas in Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district, Aul and Rajnagar in Kendrapara district, Basudevpur, Chandbali and Dhamra area in Bhadrak district.
After making an aerial view, the Union Minister landed in the Dhamra helipad. Then he moved on road and visited Sampatia village under Dosingha gram panchayat, Balabhadraprasad in Jagula gram panchayat and Jharkati village in Dhamra gram panchayat. The Union Minister also talked to villagers and enquired about their plights.
Besides, he distributed relief to villagers.
“Visited Cyclone Yaas affected areas in Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur. Most of the areas are still water-logged. I also interacted with the villagers; they told me that the storm has extensively damaged their crops and houses. One of their key demands was a pucca house,” mentioned Pradhan in his Twitter handle.
He too informed that he also joined the relief work being carried out by BJP Odisha karyakartas as a part of the “Sewa Hi Sangathan” initiative. “Our mission is to speed up relief and rehabilitation, extend all support and ensure that normal life returns for those affected by the cyclone,” he said.
