“As the first Sevak (servitor) of Lord Jagannath, you are the living idol. I am very grateful that you have awakened crores of Hindu devotees, including 4.5 crore Odias, towards the ongoing Shree Jagannath Temple Heritage Corridor Project,” wrote Pradhan.
The Union Minister added, “As the Chairman of the Shree Jagannath Temple Management Committee, you have discharged responsibilities for conservation, protection and management of the 800-year-old temple. It is a matter of happiness that Shreemandir development programme is going on under your direct guidance.”
Humbly stating that it is not possible on his part to narrate the experience of serving the Lord, Pradhan requested the Gajapati to lead a movement to provide opportunities to all devotees to serve the Lord by donating labour and money. A very large amount of donation can be collected from devotees, he contended
Pradhan mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as a devotee of Lord Jagannath, will certainly provide all legal and in-principle support for development of the Shreemandir. However, coordination between the Union Government and the State Government need to be maintained for the development of the Shreemandir.
“In this context, I urge you, as the Chairman of the Shreemandir Management Committee, to act as a bridge and maintain coordination between the Union Government and the State Government,” wrote Pradhan.
He said the Government of India will waive taxes and provide all support as per different laws and banks in Odisha and other parts of the county will provide required support.
“I request you again to provide support to covert the massive donation campaign into a Voluntary People’s Movement. With your support, innumerable devotees residing across the globe will get an opportunity to serve the Lord,” concluded Pradhan.
