Bhubaneswar, Apr 24: ‘Purvodaya’, conceived by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is not a slogan or a political rhetoric but certainly a well-thought plan for bright future of eastern India, said Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan at a seminar held with noted persons of West Bengal virtually on Saturday.
Highlighting various possibilities, Pradhan said elections to West Bengal is not for ‘Purvodaya’ but for development of West Bengal through ‘Purvodaya’. The elections will certainly fetch new sunrise for West Bengal, he said.
He said eastern India is rich geographically and people of the region are sharply intellectual. “Thus we have to harness all the possibilities and human resource of the eastern India for making a new India,” contended Pradhan.
He added, “Now, we have to renovate and promote culture and traditions of India though the thoughts of our forefathers Subhas Chandra Bose, Rabindra Nath Tagore and Swami Vivekananda.”
Pradhan also talked on good governance and democracy.
