Bhubaneswar, June 13: The State Government is fully prepared to tackle the possible third wave of Covid19 pandemic, claimed Odisha Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das here on Sunday.
While experts have opined that the possible third wave will mostly impact children, the Minister said as many as 1,610 general beds and 610 ICU beds have been kept ready at different hospitals.
He said a proposal for establishment of a Covid19 ward at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Post Graduate Institute of Paediatrics (Sishu Bhawan) in Cuttack is also under active consideration of the State Government, he said.
The Minister said more Covid Care Centres will be created for new-borns if infection rises.
