Nuapada, Apr 15: Taking into account the rising cases of Covid-19 and the administration’s reluctance to clamp lockdown, the traders in Nuapada have taken suo-motu step to close all shops in the district for nine days.
The decision came on the part of the Khadiala Trade Association on Thursday after taking into account the prevailing Covid situation in the district.
While the step was taken to break the chain of the spread of virus, shops of all essential commodities have been given a relaxation to ensure that no consumer faces trouble in accessing the things of daily need.
While the outlets dealing with essentials commodities will remain open throughout the day, vegetable shops can do their business from 5 am to 10 pm during this nine-day period, said Khadiala Trade Association President.
The district Collector has hailed the decision of the traders.
