The held peddler brother duo has been identified as Banamali Pradhan and Arun Kumar Pradhan.
Based on a tip-off that Banamali and Arun are involved in illegal drug trade, the STF raided their house in Raghunath Sahi in the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.
During the search 107 kg ganja, 517 gram opium, 607 gram gold, 196 gram silver, one SUV, 29 land documents and several other incriminating materials were recovered.
As the brother duo failed to produce any document in support of ganja and opium storage the narcotics substances were seized by the STF.
Interrogation of the peddler duo is underway to elicit more information.
Worth mentioning, in its special drive since 2020 the STF has seized over 50 kg of brown sugar/heroin, 202 gram cocaine, more than 93 quintals of ganja or marihuana and 750 gram opium. It has also arrested 141 drug dealers/peddlers.
