The girl has sent copies of the letter to the District Education Officer (DEO), Keonjhar, Block Education Officer (BEO) and District Child Protection Officer (DCPO).
According to information, the girl studies in the Sundarpal Adarsha Vidyalaya of Hatadihi block. She is staying in a private accommodation taken on rent as the school is 18 km away from her village. Her father’s paltry income doesn’t meet her mess spending, she mentioned in the letter.
Bhagaban Jena of Ambo village had married Pankajini Das of his own village following love affairs between them in 2010. Pankajini was later appointed as a teacher in the Sirigada High School. By then, Bhagaban and Panjalini had parented a girl child. Bhagaban later quit his private company job only to take care of the daughter.
Later in 2018, Pankajini parted ways with Bhagaban reportedly after falling in love with a Facebook friend. Since then, she is not coming home.
Both Bhagaban and his daughter have demanded that a part of Panjajini’s salary be given to them for meeting education expenditure of the girl.
