Eminent Odia film and theatre actor Raimohan Parida was found dead in his residence in Prachi Vihar area here this morning. He was 58.
The Governor took twitter to express grief over the death of the veteran actor and condolences to the bereaved family.
“Hon'ble Governor is deeply saddened to learn about the demise of renowned Odia film and Jatra actor Raimohan Parida. He conveyed his sympathy to bereaved family,” he tweeted in Odia.
In a tweet, the Chief Minister also condoled the demise of Raimohan Parida and said that the actor will be remembered for his brilliant acting.
“I am saddened to learn of the untimely demise of eminent actor Raimohan Parida. His presence will always be felt in various fields of art, from drama to jatra, to film. He will be remembered for his brilliant acting,” Patnaik tweeted in Odia.
“I express my condolences to the bereaved families. May the departed soul rest in peace,” he added.
Parida debuted in the Odia film industry with ‘Pakka Kambala Patt Chhata’ in 1985. He acted in more than 100 films and several Jatra shows.
The actor had acted in several super-hit movies, including ‘Rama Laxman’, ‘Aasibu Kebe Saji Mo Rani’, ‘Naga Panchami’, ‘Udandi Sita’, ‘Tu Thile Mo Dara Kahaku’, ‘Rana Bhumi’, ‘Singha Bahini,’ ‘Kulanandan’ and ‘Kandhei Aakhire Luha’.
