Earlier, the association had announced to resort to a bus strike on January 17 to press for execution of its 10 demands.
The association withdrew its strike call after thee of 10 demands were met by the State Government following discussions between association members and departmental officers.
The association has also asked the Government to meet its other seven demands by March 31, or else it would take to the streets.
According to information, the State Government has allowed to extend scrapping policy period from 15 years to 20 years. The other two demands, run of sleeper coaches during daytime and transfer of permits, have been met.
“In view of assurances and requests from the Government, we have decided to withdraw the strike,” said the association. Buses will continue to run as usual, it added.
