The incident came to the fore after the victim’s family filed a written complaint at Baripada Town police station on Thursday. Acting on the complaint, the police arrested the accused Subhasish Samal and one of his associates.
According to information, Samal allegedly raped the girl in absence of her parents. He had also captured her obscene photographs on his mobile phone.
He also extracted money from the minor girl.
“The accused has been arrested has forwarded to court,” said a police officer.
The statement of informant and witnesses has been recorded and the minor girl has been sent to PRMCH, Baripada for medical examination, he added.
