Puri, May 2: In view of rise in Covid positive cases, the Alarnath Temple at Brahmagiri in Puri district has been closed in view of lockdown declared by the State Government.
However, priests of the temple have expressed strong anguish over the closure as their source of income will be seized by the decision of the temple authorities.
“Priests at Alarnath Temple, Baliharichandi Temple and many other temples of Puri are always dependent on Dakshina collected from devotees. The source of income is seized now,” said a priest.
While the temple will remain closed till May 19, it is not sure if the shrine will open in a few days thereafter, apprehended the priest.
