Bhubaneswar, Aug 29: As many as 69 more people succumbed to Covid-19 in Odisha while undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the State, informed the State Health & Family Welfare Department on Sunday.
Of the fresh fatalities, the maximum 19 cases were reported from Cuttack district, while 10 cases were from Angul; nine from Jagatsinghpur; five each from Mayurbhanj and Nayagarh district; four each from Balasore, Dhenkanal and Kendrapara; three each from Bhadrak and Jajpur; two from Puri and one from Keonjhar district.
No fresh death cases have been reported from Khordha district, where the most number of COVID patients have succumbed (1,432) since the outbreak of the coronavirus in the State.
With this, the death toll of the State due to Covid-19 reached to 7,834.
The Health Department also said that the list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.
