Replying to a question of Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja, Patra said the revenue collection in the 2020-21 financial year was Rs 4053.51 crore. Similarly, in the 2019-20 financial year, Rs 4495.52 crore was collected, the Minister said.
The Minister further informed that a licence is given to traders for the sale of approved liquors at licensed shops.
This apart, the Minister told the House that as many as nine persons died due to the consumption of spurious alcohol in Bhadrak district.
