The incident reportedly occurred near Bahira Chhak on the NH this morning after a speeding SUV hit a car from the rear side which mowed down six motorcycles on the highway, following which all the six vehicles overturned, killing two persons on the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Gobinda Sahoo, executive officer of Ainlapalli gram panchayat and Rabi Sahoo of Kantha village.
On the other, locals blocked the NH and demanded compensation for the deceased families. Upon getting information, the Baunsuni police reached the spot and pacified the irate people.
Meanwhile, vehicular moment on the NH was disputed following the road blockade.
